Bought this product just over 12 months ago. Sub Woofer has been cracking and popping intermittently since new. Thought it must have been my TV. Bought a new TV one month ago and problem continued. Investigated reviews on the Net and discovered through Amazon that this problem is widespread with this sound bar. Called JB HI Fi and they suggested a try fix under warranty first. If this failed, then I should seek a refund.

Called Australian distributor and they told me that the info on Amazon was rubbish and to put it into their Adelaide authorised repairer under warranty.

Put the unit into Adelaide repairer (Electric Audio Workshop on 22 July 2014. Today is 11 August and the repairer keeps telling me that they do not have the replacement part required that they have ordered and the distributor cannot tell them if it has sent ( or when it will be sent. )

I will never but Harmon Karman again. Not only do they sell consumers expensive equipment with known defects, but their after sales service and warranty repair arrangements are dub standard and their service lacks any timeliness.

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

Monetary Loss: $600.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Harman Kardon Cons: Ingerent defect, After sales service warranty delays.

Location: Adelaide, South Australia

After six weeks Harman Kardon's repairer adsvised they revived the part from Harman Karden but it didn't fix the problem. They further advised HK would be sending them a replacement unit.

A few days later the repairer advised the new itme had arrived and it had been tested and was operating correctly. Picked it up , took it home and you guessed it. POP POP POP. Another HK faulty product.

I then took it to the retailer I had purchased it from, explained the situation and without any fuss, he took it back and gave me a full refund ( Retailer was JB Hi Fi).

I then purchased a Philips 9100/79 Esperio Sound Bar from.

I now realise how good a sound bar can be. It has detachable speakers to create more realistic vitual sound.

The quality of the sound leaves the HK for dead. Easy to set up and use.

And the lesson to be learnt is don't buy Harman Karden products again.

Hi Michelle

About 10 months.

I also made the mistake of purchasing a HK SB 30 and had the same popping issue and was told from several sources that the popping is caused from them using a frequency that many electronic items are commonly on so interference is quite common. I put up with it as it was not constant, but now, after only 2.8 years of use it stopped working all together.

Out of warranty, out of luck and out $800.

I also will NEVER purchase HK again.

I have exactly same issue it has been popping since I bought it. I sent to service twice within warranty period and it came back as same every time.

It now stopped working at all and I don't know what to do. I wasted my hard earned 700 for this absolute garbage.
